A 9th-grade all-in-one, in the tradition of supplementary schoolbooks

The "all-in-one" format is well-known to parents: a single schoolbook that brings together all the subjects for the year, with lessons, methods, and exercises. That is exactly what this manual is — a reference supplementary schoolbook, compliant with the curriculum, designed to succeed in the year without multiplying purchases.

Brevet objective: what the book does, and what it does not do

The cover says "brevet objective," so let's be precise. The manual contains three pages of method, all stamped "Brevet Objective": "The French exam" on page 17, "Writing well" on page 18, "Searching, reasoning, writing" on page 37. On the other hand, it contains no past exam papers and no answer keys, neither corrected exercises nor answers at the end of the book, nor multiple-choice questions: it is the lesson book that one reads before going to practice with actual exam papers.

The 9th-grade table of contents, eight subjects over 102 pages

French, mathematics, history, geography, moral and civic education, science and technology, then English as modern language 1 starting on page 89 and Spanish as modern language 2 starting on page 96. As for sciences: chemistry and energy, the Universe, DNA and heredity, the immune system, light and sound signals, what is usually categorized under biology and physics-chemistry. On page 1, the book states that it follows the official 9th-grade curriculum, end of cycle 4, and that it complements the teachers' courses without replacing them. It is neither published nor validated by the Ministry of National Education. The entire pedagogy fits in the sentence on page 2: one concept per page.

24 illustrations, three maps, one timeline

It is the most sober of the four volumes, with 24 illustrations. Twelve photographic documents: the two world wars, Gandhi and decolonization, the Berlin Wall, de Gaulle, a galaxy. Three labeled maps: France and its metropolitan areas, the European Union, France in the world. Nine diagrams: Thales, trigonometry, functions, DNA and chromosomes, acids and bases. Added to this is a chronological timeline of the 20th century, on page 54, convenient for putting landmarks in order. Paper, nothing to activate

No digital manual, no digital books, no licenses to activate: there is nothing to download and nothing to retrieve on the school's digital workspace (ENT). No index and no alphabetical glossary either: the thematic table of contents follows the subjects.

Who publishes it, and where to find it
